december

merry happy

Life Lately: Merry, happy! It’s December! For a girl who dreads the winter, December is actually one of my favorite months. The Christmas tree at Lenox Mall is up, neighbors are putting out their lights, and holiday music can be heard on the radio. I’m one happy girl over here.

What I’m Listening To: (when Christmas music isn’t playing) The Tallest Man on Earth. On repeat. I learned all the words in 2 days.¬†

What I’m Reading: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and my gosh I can’t believe I’m even putting it down to write this post. I am enthralled in it. The movie came out last week, but the book has been so good, I am way scared to watch the movie for fear of disappointment. Seriously, go get this book if you haven’t read it. It’s so well written, I could go on for days.

What I’m Excited About: J and I are heading to Serenbe in two weeks to go horse back riding. I’ve never been (to Serenbe, not horseback riding), and I have been dying to go for years. I’ve been giddy since I impromptu bought the excursion last month.

Who’s Inspiring Me:¬†Isobel over at Bel & Beau. This lady is creative, thoughtful, determined, and beautiful to boot. I discovered her shop last week, and since I’ve been hooked. She’s queen of dressing up at the market, which is my kind of girl.

What’s Inspiring Me: White Brick Fireplaces, November Peonies, Jessica Alba in hot pink Reem Acra, these gorgeous illustrations, and everything (faux) fur.

November Was: Unexpected. After a last minute seat at Brand Market Workshop, this little place got a major face lift, in both looks and heart. I’m feeling especially grateful looking back on the last month. Sometime you need a good kick in the behind, a good reminder that your dreams are worth chasing.

December Will Be: Craziness. Pure chaos. Chaos covered in string lights. But over on Something Southern, December will be ornament crafting, gift guides, easy holiday decor, a local giveaway, my 2014 planner, some quick holiday recipes, and a few things I haven’t even dreamed up yet ; )

{ps-that handsome man up there is Mr. Buddha Beau. My family pup who looks pretty darn handsome in a bow tie if I do say so myself!}
